I have been throwing around the idea of starting a party planning business for a while now. I had posted something a couple months back on a local Facebook group page trying to gauge interest in the area. A couple weeks later I was contacted by a sweet lady seeking help with her daughter's first birthday party. When I got the message I had a thousand thoughts running through my head and a million butterflies in my stomach. And honestly I almost said no. My insecurities were getting to me. What if I get in over my head? What if she hates everything I make? What if I can't make her vision come to life?
But I decided to set aside my insecurities, put myself out there and give it a shot. I am so glad I did! We met at a local Starbucks so we could meet in person and so I could get an idea of what she was thinking for the party. She already had tons of ideas, which was wonderful! She was so sweet and so easy to work with, which always makes my job easier!
So here's how Draelynn's Pink and Gold 1st Birthday Party turned out!
Pink ruffle overlay from Hobby Lobby
Backdrop made out of streamers
I cannot take credit for this Happy Birthday Banner or the big 1. I'm not sure who
made those but they turned out super cute
Draelynn's mom Tiffany got TONS of balloons blown up. It made the
space feel sooo festive!
I made more of these mason jars with ribbon but we ended up not using them because there were so many kids she was afraid they'd get broken.
What kid's party isn't complete without Cheese Puffs?
Gold Platter from Home Goods
These glittered mason jars with flowers were my favorite!
Cardboard letters from Hobby Lobby. I used Mod Podge and extra fine gold glitter
(I'm obsessed with extra fine glitter!)
Cupcakes from Publix.
Cupcake stand is collapsible (from Bed, Bath and Beyond)
Cake stand from Hobby Lobby
Both cakes from Publix. Their cakes are so good and they always look cute!
My little Tinkerbell helping me peel labels
Another one of my favorites and super easy to make
I can't take credit for either of these tables or the high chair banner. They were adorable! I loved the pink and gold mason jars and the gold tablecloth
Favor tags from ConfettiFete on Etsy. I printed them on full sheet shipping label paper (8.5"x11") and used a 2 1/4in round puncher (found at Hobby Lobby).
I made this sign out of ribbon, cardboard pennants, and scrapbook paper. Glitter was everywhere from the gold glitter ribbon! I made it in three separate pieces so you can use it however works best in the space!
Tiffany took care of setting everything up a couple days before the party started. She did such a wonderful job! She wanted to get everything up to see how it looked and see if there was anything else that we needed to get before the party. I don't blame her, I'm the exact same way! It ended up looking amazing and the birthday girl was adorable!
Tiffany, I hope it was everything you dreamed it would be and I am so glad the rain held out! Thank you for contacting me and allowing me to help with Draelynn's first birthday.
